Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-08-16.

These terms cover your use of calgaryfoundationpros.com. Using the site means accepting them. They are written to be understood, not to be impenetrable.

1. What this site is

Calgary Foundation Pros is an independent information and referral service. We do not carry out foundation work ourselves. Assessment requests are passed to an independent Calgary foundation contractor who contacts you directly.

We are not a foundation contractor. We hold no trade qualification, employ no technicians, and are not professional engineers. Full detail is on how this site works.

2. The information here is general, not an assessment

Everything published on this site is general guidance for Calgary homeowners. It is not an inspection, an engineering assessment, or professional advice about your specific property, and it cannot be. Nobody has seen your foundation.

Foundation problems vary enormously between properties. A description that matches your situation on this site may still have a different cause and a different remedy. Where a page says a professional engineer is the appropriate next step, that is genuine advice and not a formality.

Do not rely on this site alone to decide whether a structural situation is safe. If you believe there is an immediate risk to safety, contact a qualified professional directly.

3. Cost figures are quoted from third parties

The figures on our cost page are reproduced from named published sources with their dates. They are not our prices, not quotes, and not an offer. They may be out of date, may not reflect your property, and in several documented cases the sources disagree with each other substantially.

Only a contractor who has inspected your property can price the work. Nothing on this site creates any expectation of a particular price.

4. The referral relationship

When you submit an assessment request, we pass your details to an independent contractor. That contractor is a separate business. We do not employ, supervise, control or guarantee them.

Any agreement, quote, work, warranty or dispute is between you and that contractor directly. We are not a party to it and cannot be responsible for their work, conduct, pricing, timeliness or the outcome of any job.

We would still like to know if a referral goes badly, because it informs who we refer to next.

5. No guaranteed response

We cannot promise that a contractor will contact you, or contact you within any particular time. They set their own schedules and workloads. We would rather state that than advertise a response time we do not control.

If your situation is urgent and nobody has been in touch, contact a Calgary foundation contractor directly rather than waiting on us.

6. Accuracy and updates

We take reasonable care that the content is accurate and sourced at the time of publication, and each guide shows when it was last updated. Building practice, pricing, regulation and third-party sources all change, and we do not warrant that everything is current or complete at the moment you read it.

If you find something wrong, tell us. Corrections are made rather than argued about.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading or third-party details through the form.
  • Use the form to send unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Attempt to interfere with, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
  • Scrape or republish the content in bulk without permission.

Submissions that appear automated or abusive are rejected, and the form is rate limited.

8. Third-party links

We link to external sources so you can check our figures and claims yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link is a citation, not an endorsement.

9. Intellectual property

The written content, diagrams and design on this site are ours. The diagrams were drawn for this site rather than sourced from anyone else. You are welcome to quote short passages with attribution and a link. Wholesale reproduction is not permitted.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on the information on this site, from the acts or omissions of any contractor you are referred to, or from any interruption to the site.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Alberta Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer protection law, and nothing here is intended to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Disputes are subject to the courts of Alberta.

12. Changes

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are. Continued use of the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through the assessment form, noting in the description that it is a terms enquiry so it is not passed to a contractor.
