Calgary Foundation Pros is an independent information and referral service. We do not carry out foundation work ourselves. Assessment requests are passed to an independent Calgary foundation contractor who contacts you directly.

Water coming in right now?

1. Keep clear of standing water near outlets, cords and panels. If water is near electrical equipment or the furnace, treat the area as unsafe until power to it is off.
2. Move what you can, and lift what you cannot onto blocks.
3. Go outside and look for the feed: a disconnected downspout, pooled meltwater against the wall, a blocked window well. Redirecting it often slows the leak within minutes.
4. Photograph everything before you clean up.

Where on the wall or floor the problem is, in plain words
How long it has been there, and whether it has changed
Whether it tracks the weather, particularly spring melt
Whether anything else in the house has changed: doors, floors, windows
Dated photographs, with a coin or ruler in frame for scale
