How This Site Works
Who am I actually dealing with here?
Calgary Foundation Pros is an independent information and referral service. We do not carry out foundation work ourselves. Assessment requests are passed to an independent Calgary foundation contractor who contacts you directly.
We are a referral service, not a contractor. Your request goes to an independent Calgary foundation company.
The short version
Calgary Foundation Pros publishes information about foundation problems in Calgary and passes assessment requests to independent local contractors. We do not repair foundations. Nobody here is a foundation technician, and nobody here is an engineer.
We are stating that prominently rather than in small print because a site named after a city and a trade could easily be mistaken for the trade itself, and we would rather you knew before you filled anything in than afterwards.
What happens to an assessment request
Step by step, with no stage omitted.
You submit the form
Five required fields: your name, phone number, postal code, what you are dealing with and how urgent it is. Everything else is optional.
It is checked and prioritised
The request is validated, screened for spam, and given an internal priority so an active leak in Calgary is not sitting behind a general price enquiry. That priority is never shown to you and never used to reject a request.
It goes to a contractor
An independent Calgary foundation contractor covering your postal code receives your name, phone, postal code and description, along with anything optional you chose to add.
They contact you directly
The contractor gets in touch using the number you gave. Any quote, any assessment and any work is between you and them. We are not party to it.
We do not chase you
There is no drip campaign and no newsletter you did not ask for. Your details are used to connect you with a contractor, and that is the whole purpose.
What you will not find on this site
These are commitments, and they are enforced in the code rather than left to good intentions.
- Reviews, ratings or testimonials. We have not earned any, so there are none to show.
- A physical address. There is no office open to the public, and inventing one to appear in a map result would be misrepresentation.
- Claims about years in business, projects completed, technicians employed or certifications held.
- A phone number that nobody answers. If no number is configured, the site shows no phone CTA at all rather than one that dead-ends.
- Promised response times we cannot guarantee, because the contractor sets their own schedule.
- Invented prices. Every figure on the cost page is reproduced from a named published source with its date, and none has been averaged or adjusted.
- LocalBusiness structured data. This site emits Organization schema, because a referral service has no premises, no opening hours and no reviews to mark up.
Why we are this explicit about it
Alberta's Consumer Protection Act makes it an unfair practice for a supplier to do or say anything that might reasonably deceive a consumer, and separately to represent a status, qualification, affiliation or connection it does not have. Federal law judges a representation by the general impression it creates, not only by its literal words.
The practical consequence is that a disclosure buried in a footer does not fix a site that otherwise reads like a contractor. So the disclosure appears above the fold on the homepage, beside the form on the assessment page, inside every call-to-action block, and in the consent checkbox you have to tick before submitting.
This is also simply the arrangement we would want explained to us. If you would rather deal with a contractor directly, that is an entirely reasonable choice, and the information on this site is free either way.

Questions about the arrangement
Are you a foundation contractor?
No. Calgary Foundation Pros does not carry out foundation work, does not employ technicians, and holds no trade qualification. We publish information for Calgary homeowners and pass assessment requests to independent local contractors who do the work.
Who actually receives my details?
An independent Calgary foundation contractor covering your postal code. They contact you directly. We do not sell your details to a marketing list, and we do not pass them to multiple companies without telling you.
How does this site make money?
By referring homeowners to contractors. That is the commercial model, and it is stated here rather than buried, because you should know it when you decide whether to submit a form. It also means the incentive on this site is to send qualified enquiries, not to convince everyone that they have a problem.
Does that bias the advice?
It could, which is why the content is structured to make that hard. Every problem page has to state which versions of the symptom need nothing, the cost page publishes the disagreement between sources rather than the highest figure, and the guides repeatedly point at the cheapest fixes first, including ones no contractor gets paid for. If you find a page that fails that standard, it is a defect and we want to hear about it.
Do you vet the contractors?
We are honest about the current state of this: the partner arrangements are being established, and until they are, this page will not claim a vetting process that is not yet running. When contractor partnerships are in place, this page will say who they are and what checks were done. Nothing here will describe a process that does not exist.
Is any of this an engineering assessment?
No. Everything on this site is general guidance written for Calgary homeowners. It is not an assessment of your property, and it is not a substitute for a professional engineer where the situation warrants one. Several pages say explicitly when an engineer is the appropriate next step.
