Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-08-16.

This policy covers calgaryfoundationpros.com. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so it says plainly what is collected and where it goes. The short version: we collect what the form asks for, we pass it to one contractor, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Who we are

Calgary Foundation Pros is an independent information and referral service for Calgary homeowners. We do not perform foundation work. Assessment requests are passed to independent contractors, which is described in full on how this site works.

What we collect

When you submit the assessment form, we collect:

  • Required: your name, phone number, postal code, the type of problem and its urgency.
  • Optional, only if you choose to give them: email address, neighbourhood, property type, whether the basement is finished, approximate age of the house, preferred contact method and a description of the problem.
  • Automatically, with the submission: the page you were on, the referring page, any UTM or gclid parameters in the URL, your browser user agent, and a one-way salted hash of your IP address.

We do not ask for your street address. Routing a request needs a postal code, not a house number, so we do not collect one.

Your IP address is hashed before it is stored, not kept in the clear. It exists to limit abuse of the form, and the hash cannot be reversed to recover the address.

Why we collect it

  • To pass your enquiry to a contractor who covers your area.
  • To let that contractor contact you about it.
  • To prioritise urgent requests, such as water actively entering a basement.
  • To protect the form from automated abuse.
  • To understand which pages produce enquiries, so the site can be improved. This uses aggregate figures, not individual browsing histories.

Who it is shared with

The details you submit are passed to one independent Calgary foundation contractor covering your postal code. They contact you directly, and any subsequent relationship, quote or work is between you and them.

We do not:

  • Sell your details to a marketing list.
  • Pass them to multiple companies without telling you.
  • Add you to a newsletter or marketing sequence you did not ask for.
  • Share them with data brokers or advertising networks.

Once a contractor has your details, their own privacy practices apply to what they do with them. We recommend asking them directly if that matters to you.

Service providers

We use third parties to run the site and deliver enquiries. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

  • Vercel hosts the site and processes standard server request logs.
  • Email or webhook delivery transmits your enquiry to the contractor.
  • Analytics is not currently active on this site. No analytics script is loaded and no measurement cookie is set.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no login, no shopping cart and no personalisation, so there is nothing to remember between visits.

With analytics inactive, no third-party cookie is set either. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it does.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are retained for up to 24 months so we can resolve any dispute about whether a referral was made and handled properly. Aggregate analytics figures, which do not identify you, are kept longer. Ask us to delete your details sooner and we will.

Your rights

Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and withdraw consent to its use. You can also ask us to delete it.

To make any of those requests, contact us using the details below. We will need enough information to locate your record, which is usually the phone number and postal code you submitted.

If a contractor has already received your details, ask them separately, since we cannot delete records held on their systems.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Form input is validated and sanitised on the server, rate limited, and protected against automated submission. Credentials for delivery services are held as server-side environment variables and are never exposed to the browser.

No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise. We collect the minimum needed to route an enquiry, which is the most effective protection available.

Children

This site is intended for property owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes to how enquiry data is shared will be described here rather than made quietly.

Contact

A contact mailbox is being set up and will be published here. In the meantime, if you need a record deleted, submit the assessment form with your request in the description field and we will action it without passing the enquiry to a contractor.
